Anne brings storytelling and writing to the classroom in interactive residencies. She is available as a private contractor and through Young Audiences of Oregon.

Telling Our Oregon Tales
PUBLIC SPEAKING THROUGH FAMILY FOLKLORE
Students build public speaking skills by developing a short family story to tell aloud, in context of Oregon's cultural and ethnic history. Anne provides techniques for organizing an effective public speech, a timeline and personal narratives from Oregon's history.

Story Vision and Re-Vision
WRITING GOOD IMAGINATIVE FICTION
Using innovative pre-writing templates and revision strategies, students develop an original character and realistic imaginative story. Anne uses interactive "character interviews" and characters from her own stories to energize reluctant as well as fluent writers.

Language on the Move
EMBODYING BUILDING BLOCKS OF LITERACY
Using lively stories from children's literature, Anne uses interactive games to help students "liberate" characters and create their own stories. Kinesthetic exploration reinforces the desire to explore language through reading and writing.

STRATEGIES FOR STRUCTURING STORIES WITH OOOMPH
Identify the essentials of a story and develop options for telling it effectively, such as: a five-minute version, starting in the middle, and from a different point of view. Participants will leave with new options for telling the story they worked with, learning strategies to apply to other stories in their repertoire.

Tell it Like You Mean It
KEEP YOUR STORIES FRESH AND NEW
Anne draws on her background in improv theater to lead participants in fun, relevant exercises to keep even the most tried and true story fresh and spontaneous, for the teller and audience. This workshop is extrovert friendly, and introvert safe! May also include techniques for groups who wish to develop group improv storytelling performances.

HOLIDAY TALES, 2008
|
Anne loves telling stories to our current elder generation, who grew up listening to stories on the radio and on the back porch. Her programs evoke memories, special times and often, a good laugh.

Fools for Love
Songs and stories about the age-less silliness and wonder of love, from kindergarten to a ripe old age. Includes old favorites like "My Darlin' Clementine" and an audience participation tale of royal love.

Holiday Bouquet of Tales
This lively mix of stories from faith and secular traditions highlights the meaning and occasional mayhem of the holidays. Includes classic pieces like "The Night Before Christmas" and harvest tales from the Jewish tradition.

In the Good Old Summertime
Sunny tales of golden escapes, nostalgic journeys, and songs of summertime joy. Includes classic poems, vintage songs and "My Way or The Highway" family vacation adventures.
